If you are feeling sick, we have to register this with the Occupational Health Service (Arbo) because of legal and insurance-related regulations.
Our occupational health and safety service 'Zorg van de Zaak' helps us when we need advice or assistance during illness. They have special absenteeism supervisors and arbo-doctors. Click here for their website.
If you are ill more than three times a year, this is considered above average. In such case, the Health and Safety Executive recommends checking in with you to see how you are doing. So that is what we do.
Do not feel guilty about calling in sick, it is really not necessary.
Go to the doctor in time, get help. Don't act tough when it comes to your health.
If you have any vague complaints for a long time, headaches, panic feelings, sleeping badly, little energy, things like that, check how much stress you are under. You can discuss this with your doctor, but do not hesitate to ask your manager for help if work is the cause of your stress.
If you are unable to work for a longer period of time due to illness, our Occupational Health and Safety Service can help guide you and see how and when you can start working again.
