How to submit a leave request:
- Are you taking a few days off? Great, we only encourage that! :)
- First of all, take a look at your holiday agenda to see which of your colleagues will not be working that week either. Discuss this in your team and pay attention to deadlines/customer appointments/etc. and make sure you know in advance that a colleague can take over your work.
- Check? Have you discussed it with your manager? You then send an email to your manager and traffic stating the desired days off.
- Traffic assesses the request from a planning and workload perspective, provides advice to the manager regarding possible challenges, who could take over tasks, and makes a preliminary plan.
- Your manager decides based on the information and sends approval or rejection to the employee, with traffic copied on the email.
- Now you can request your days in TLO and note your days inĀ the holiday agenda.
- After receiving these necessary approvals, you can start packing your suitcase.
- Write your handover, close your laptop and get on the plane :-)
About your handover:
- At least 3 days before your vacation, share the initial version of the handover with your manager, traffic and colleagues who will be taking over your tasks. This gives everyone a chance to ask questions and ensure that everything is feasible and clear.
- On the last day before your vacation, share the final version of the handover with the same individuals.
- On the last day before your vacation, enable the out-of-office reply in Gmail and update your status in Slack with the date of your return. Last but not least complet your timesheets in Orbit.
This way, you can let go and enjoy your time off, knowing that your colleagues are aware of what needs to be done.
