Our Vision on (Free) Time
We are used to laws, institutions (school, companies, etc.) or other people deciding when, why and how to manage our (free) time. We believe that time is changing and that it is outdated and too limited to look at free time - and 'time' in general - that way.
We find it much more important that you take responsibility for your own time. That you can feel and estimate how much time you need to find a good balance between work and non-work. Just as your work cannot be captured in exactly 40 hours per week, your free time or holidays cannot be captured in exactly five weeks per year either. Those who work hard also need time to rest and recharge. And besides work, there are enough "life events" that you don't want to or can't miss, and you need to make time for them.
We want you to use your time wisely, because if you divide it well you can focus and perform well at work and feel energetic enough to enjoy all the good things in life.
It is also exciting to let go of fixed ideas and look for a new path. We believe it can be done, in fact we believe it can be done today. It just requires more coordination, communication, openness and responsibility. That's why in our team guide we spend a lot of text and explanation on our concept of free time, holidays and public holidays. Think of it as the basic principles. At the end of the day, we are happy to discuss things face-to-face if necessary.
